MovieTowne Guyana is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Safety Officer to oversee all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) matters across the property. The Safety Officer will ensure compliance with local regulations, promote a culture of safety among staff and tenants, and implement systems to prevent accidents, emergencies, and hazards. 70344b

• Diploma or equivalent in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in retail, hospitality, or public venue environments.

• Knowledge of local HSE laws and fire safety codes.

• Strong observational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

• Ability to work independently and maintain a proactive approach to risk management.

• Physically fit and able to perform regular inspections across large areas.

• Conduct routine safety inspections of the entire property, including the mall, cinemas, restaurants, outdoor spaces, parking lots, and storage areas.

• Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement corrective measures promptly.

• Ensure compliance with OSHA, local fire safety regulations, and other applicable laws.

• Develop and enforce site-specific safety policies, procedures, and protocols.

• Organize regular fire drills, emergency response training, and evacuation simulations for staff and tenants.

• Inspect fire extinguishers, emergency exits, lighting, and first aid stations regularly to ensure readiness.

• Investigate and document all incidents, accidents, and near-misses with follow-up recommendations.

• Monitor and ensure contractor safety compliance during maintenance, renovations, or event setups.

• Provide safety briefings to staff and new hires.

• Coordinate with emergency services when required.

• Maintain detailed records of inspections, training sessions, audits, and safety incidents.
